Animal Farm by George Orwell

All hope abandon ye who read George Orwell.

He is not going to sugarcoat the realities for you and that makes him one of my all time favourite writers.
If I was to present the crux of Animal Farm in one sentence, I would state,

"Tyranny of one through the servitude of other(s) is inherent in all the political orders of the world."

Although this novella is seen by many as a critique of communism alone but the underlying principles are of universal application.
